Quality assurance in European Higher Education in Europe and Moodle

The QQI just published a Policy for the Cyclical Review of Higher Education Institutions in Ireland.

The QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) is a state agency established by the Quality Assurance and Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 2012 with a board appointed by the Minister for Education and Skills.

Their functions include those previously carried out by...

  • the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC);
  • the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC);
  • the Irish Universities Quality Board (IUQB)
  • the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI)
The cyclical review model is in keeping with The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, 2015 (Parts 2 and 3) published by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) in co-operation with...
  • the European Students’ Union (ESU),
  • the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE)
  • the European University Association (EUA).
These Guidelines are outlined as follows...

I was wondering where in this outline can we include the LMS of a Higher Education Institution. In a first overview it call my attention subsections: 1.6 Information system and 2.5 Reporting.

I will be analyzing more in dept this idea during the next months and will keep you updated.
